Claims Specialist

  • On-site
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

Job description

About us

The Process department is the beating heart of the company: without it, everything would fall apart! As Yource, we protect international traveller’s rights in the case of a delayed, cancelled and overbooked flight and we claim compensation when it’s due. Unfortunately, airlines often try to discredit passenger rights and that’s where Yource comes in. We make sure people are heard and helped in a personal way so that they still get what they are rightfully entitled to. Within the process department, we therefore work hard on validating the thousands of incoming claims, updating customers on their claim status, standing up against airlines and releasing our inner detective skills to find the best solution. Our team works together with our smart and automated system to process claims in the most efficient way. As a Claims Specialist, your daily activities will be the direct link to more happy travellers around the world.

What a possible day could look like for you

The weather is nice so you decide to work from the office today, so you head over to the Vondelpark area. When you arrive at 09:00 CFO Bart is already there with office dog Frits, and since it’s Friday most of the Process team will be here! Today is going to be an interesting day as Transavia had a strike yesterday. We’re expecting to get quite a few claims on this matter which means there’s a lot of potential travellers you can help!

You open Slack and notice there have been quite a few funny Giphys sent around already. Your manager Marijn has prepared your weekly schedule and you have a look at your tasks for today. Shall you start with investigating some flight schedules to see if you can validate some claims that are stuck at an early stage of the process? Or look into an air traffic strike that happened yesterday in France that could mean claims aren’t valid? You go over to Senior Claims Specialist Amélie to discuss the legal ramifications of this. You make a decision and directly submit this into the system so the data can be updated right away.

It’s lunch time already, the noisiest time at the office! Nanne and Mikołaj are playing table tennis, and Frits is running around trying to get people to give him a snack. Around 16:00 you finish your daily schedule so you check with Marijn what you should work on next. A new project is starting next week and you still need to prepare some input for that so a perfect time to work on this. Before you know it, it’s 17:30 and the working day is over - time for some Friday drinks!
